[Class is currently full] Tying Dry Flies Master Class, with Dennis Potter

April 6 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Mg 2647

So many fly-tyers are stuck being really good, instead of great, at tying dry flies.  This class will get you into that “great” category.  Clean up your parachutes.  Split tails the right way.  Flare your deer hair.  Get a tight dubbed body. These small things make all the difference in the quality and durability of your flies.  What’s more, the flies you’ll learn to tie are the exact ones you’re going to need this spring:  The Rivergod Emerger Hendricksons, the Henny Parachute, Henny Spinner, and Opal X-Caddis.

Mg 2645

You are a candidate for this class if you are already a proficient dry fly tier:  If you can tie a parachute, or set hen wings, or split microfibbets…then you should attend this class.  If you have questions regarding your capability, give Josh an email:  [email protected].

Dennis uses the Vise Logic Fly Tying Video Theater to provide a world-class view of what he’s doing.  You do not rush through this class.  The goal is as close to perfect as possible.

Cost:  $100/person

What to bring:  Bring your vise and tools and 8/0 thread in tan, gray (or light olive) and brown.

Includes:  All materials, coffee, morning treats, and jailhouse stew (with accompanying crackers and cheese) and a fruit salad [Josh’s note:  Dennis is an excellent chef]

Where:  The Gates Lodge Board Room

Interested?  You should be.  This class is already half full before we could even advertise it.  To sign up, contact Josh at [email protected]
